Frequently asked questions

How much does Mercari take per sale?

A flat 10% of the item price plus buyer-paid shipping. On a $40 item with $6 shipping, that's 10% of $46 = $4.60, and there's no extra processing fee — so your payout is $41.40 before your own item and shipping costs.

Does Mercari charge sellers a payment processing fee?

No. Since the 2025 fee update, sellers pay only the 10% selling fee — no separate processing charge — and withdrawals are free.

Who pays for shipping on Mercari?

Either the buyer pays shipping or you offer free shipping (and absorb the label cost). Either way the 10% fee is calculated on the item price plus whatever shipping the buyer pays — this calculator accounts for both your label cost and the buyer-paid amount.
