In July 2024, Depop removed its 10% selling fee for US sellers and shifted the cost to buyers (a marketplace/buyer-protection fee added at checkout). For US sellers that means there's no longer a selling commission — but you still pay a payment processing fee on every sale, and an optional Boost fee if you promote a listing.
| Fee | Amount | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Selling fee | 0% | Removed for US sellers (July 2024). |
| Payment processing | 3.3% + $0.45 | Of item price + buyer-paid shipping, per order. |
| Boost (optional) | 8% | Only if you promote the listing; charged on the item sale price. |
| Buyer protection fee | up to ~5% + $1 (buyer) | Paid by the buyer at checkout; doesn't reduce your payout. |
Fees as of 2026 for US sellers and can change; non-US sellers may still pay a selling fee. Planning tool, not financial advice — verify in Depop's help center.
Not for US sellers. Depop removed its 10% selling fee in July 2024 and moved the cost to buyers. You still pay a 3.3% + $0.45 payment processing fee per order. (Sellers outside the US may still be charged a selling fee — check your local Depop terms.)
On a $35 item with $5 buyer-paid shipping, processing is 3.3% of $40 plus $0.45 = about $1.77, so your payout is roughly $38.23 before your own item and shipping costs. There's no selling commission on top of that.
Boost is optional paid promotion. If you boost a listing, Depop charges an extra 8% of the item's sale price when it sells, on top of the processing fee. Leave the "Boosted listing" box unchecked if you're not promoting.
For US sellers, often yes — with no selling commission, Depop's seller cost is just the 3.3% + $0.45 processing, which is usually less than Poshmark's 20% (over $15) or Mercari's flat 10%. Run the same item through the Poshmark and Mercari calculators to compare your exact payout.
